Million Kids is dedicated to combating human trafficking, sex trafficking and exploitation through education, training, prevention and supportive services.

Human trafficking is the fastest growing crime in the U.S. Our teenagers and young adults are the primary target with recruitment taking place in schools, malls and social media. Human Trafficking is often a crime of psychology luring in unsuspecting victims with promises of love and easy money. That means EDUCATION is the key to keeping kids safe, parents informed and our schools and community engaged in stopping the exploitation of our young people.

The three most likely targets of human trafficking in the U.S. are:

  • Foster Kids – 50% of child sex trafficking victims come from the Foster Care System.
  • Pregnant Teens – There is nothing more vulnerable than a pregnant teen without a support system.
  • Runaway and Homeless Kids – 1.69 “Million Kids” run away each year (6000 in Riverside County) and 35-37% will engage in prostitution within the first 48 hours to survive.

Catalyst Goals:

  • Maximize the impact of philanthropic donations and grants
  • Multiply resources for the greatest effect
  • Focus on women and children, education and community safety.
  • Promote accountability and corporate engagement.

Catalyst Vision:
Each year generous corporations, foundations, non-profit organizations and individuals donate resources to effect change and support their communities. The Catalyst Program is designed to invest donations where there is the greatest need; manage and monitor funding for the greatest return; and provide accountability and engagement to the donor while providing the resources to stop child sex trafficking.

Catalyst Strategy:

  1. Educate, assist, mentor, and support (not enable) vulnerable teens and their families about child sex trafficking.
  2. Match philanthropic goals of the donor to specific needs in the community. We will apply donations where they will do the most good and engage the donor by sharing the real life stories of how their investment has changed lives.
  3. Train and engage volunteers of Million Kids to develop programs and projects that benefit kids in the foster care system, pregnant teens, runaway teens, and homeless teens. Some of these programs will be conducted in conjunction with the Riverside County Child Protective Services “Faith in Motion” program.

Million Kids is a Pubic Benefit 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization dedicated to stopping child sex trafficking, educating kids, parents, school administrators, government officials and civic leaders to keep our kids free from predators and our communities safe. We serve as the Training and Outreach Coordinator for the Riverside County Sheriff Anti Human Trafficking Task Force. We have worked with exploited and trafficked persons and situations for many years. We operate on the ground and in the real world. We KNOW that if we can educate a young person about child sex trafficking THEY WILL LISTEN. We also understand AT RISK kids have needs.

Human trafficking is a crime where the predator lures in unsuspecting victims with false promises, coercion, force and the promise of love and easy money. These same targets are often the most vulnerable in our society.

  • Kids with low self-esteem
  • At-risk youth
  • Drug and alcohol dependent kids
  • Kids with pornography addiction
  • Low income teens and adults
  • Kids from single parent homes
  • Foster kids and especially emancipating foster youth
  • Pregnant teens and young girls
  • Teens with gang affiliations
  • Runaway teens/ Homeless individuals
  • Kids with learning disabilities

The Catalyst Effect:
Kids in nearly every category mentioned above is at extreme risk to become a victim of human trafficking. It is not enough to educate them and tell them to be careful. We MUST remove their vulnerabilities and replace them with strength, support and personal value. Foster Kids are especially vulnerable. They have had no one to tell them they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. We utilize donor funding to meet their physical and material needs while mentoring them to find their own value and not be easy prey for predators.

So How Does Catalyst Work?

  • We match your resources with the need.
  • We focus on community safety, helping women and At-Risk Teens.
  • We address the needs of a vulnerable population with the goal of preventing child sex trafficking.

Here are some examples of how we can put your donations to work:

At-Risk Teens:

  • Assist with obtaining a GED
  • Provide emotional and financial assistance to pregnant teens
  • Help a homeless teen re-stabilize and provide support through mentoring.
  • Create projects and outings that will provide positive engagement and role models
  • Provide computer access for teens to apply for jobs.

Foster Youth:

  • Provide a scholarship for an emancipated foster youth.
  • Provide mentoring and counseling for emancipated foster youth.
  • Provide education and support for foster parents.
  • Help emancipated foster youth set up an apartment and learn independent living skills.
  • Provide emancipated foster youth with positive activities that build confidence and personal growth.

Single Parent Households:

  • Assist single parent households that may have family members who are vulnerable to exploitation.
  • Provide backpacks for back-to-school programs.
  • Provide schoolbooks, supplies and/or funding for extracurricular activities.

We also educate teens, parents, and school administrators about child sex trafficking, including how the predator identifies their target, how they groom the victim, and how to report trafficking to authorities.

This is a win-win for everyone. Together, we combat child sex trafficking, provide support and mentoring for the most at-risk kids and their families, and invest your donation where it reaps the most success. Most importantly, YOU will share in the success stories of every life YOU help to change!
